IMWell Health Hires Eric Simpson for New Position

FORT SMITH, AR – IMWell Health recently announced the hiring of Eric Simpson for its newly created ‘Vice President of Operations’ position. Mr. Simpson is a 14 year veteran of management positions in the nursing and home care industry. He now helps oversee the delivery of dedicated medical services at all IMWell Health clinics, which help lower costs and reduce wait times for patients while improving employee health and productivity for client companies.

“Our growth over the past few years has been exponential,” stated Dan Parker, CEO of IMWell Health. “With over 40 employees spread across the region, we needed an operations manager to help guide our personnel and stay in close contact with our clients so we can continue that trend.”

Mr. Simpson previously worked for Lincare, a supplier of pharmacy services and equipment to patients in the home, where he rose to area manager for a five state region. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Arkansas Tech University, and also spent several years as a Registered Nurse and Adjunct Instructor for nursing classes during his career.

“Eric has the combination of experience and leadership that will help us continue to deliver great service to our clients, while understanding the needs of our employees. His hands-on nursing work, coupled with his management background is just what our company needs,” stated Mr. Parker.

Mr. Simpson will be located in the Ft. Smith headquarters of IMWell Health and report directly to the CEO. His responsibilities include managing all clinical support staff, developing clinic work schedules, maintaining communication with client companies, and overseeing all general and administrative activities for the company.

IMWell Health Welcomes Dr. Denver Barger

LITTLE ROCK, ARK. – Board-certified family medicine practitioner, Dr. Denver Barger, has joined IMWell Health as the medical director for their new Little Rock Multi-Employer Clinic. Dr. Barger is a 24-year veteran of family practice medicine who brings experience and local leadership to IMWell Health’s Central Arkansas operations.

Dr. Barger earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed his residency in Family Medicine at UAMS soon thereafter. He has served as staff physician and partner in several family practice clinics in Little Rock and Cabot during his career in family medicine.

Dr. Barger has also served as a Volunteer Resident Instructor at UAMS and serves as a preceptor to mentor and teach medical students and nurses. He is a long-standing member of both the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Pulaski County Medical Society.

“We are pleased to have a doctor as experienced and knowledgeable as Dr. Barger join our team,” said Dan Parker, CEO of IMWell Health. “His commitment to patient ‘whole-health’ embodies what IMWell Health strives to do for each client employee we see and treat.”

In addition to providing medical director duties at the Little Rock clinic, Dr. Barger’s responsibilities also include overseeing medical operations at the company’s Hot Springs clinic. He splits his time between the clinics each week seeing patients, reviewing records, and providing guidance for clinic personnel.

As of Sept, 28 2011 , the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) grant Dr. Rodney McDonald a three-year recognition as a member of the Diabetes Physician Recognition Program. The NCQA/ADA Diabetes Physician Recognition Program is a voluntary effort to identify physician’s who provide excellent diabetes care consistent with the comprehensive diabetes care measures within the Health Plan Employer Data and Information Set (HEDIS), ADA’s Standards of Medical Care and the Diabetes Quality Improvement Project.

IMWell Health is adding an automated appointment reminder

IMWell Health is adding an automated system to telephonically reach out to patients as a means of improving communication and reducing “no shows”. The Phone Tree system will:

Contact the patient’s home the day prior to a scheduled appointment as a reminder and to get confirmation for the appointment.
Contact a patient’s home to follow up on a “no show”.
Contact the patient’s home as a reminder to schedule a routine follow up or annual physical.

This system is commonly used by physician and dental offices and is an adjunct to our electronic medical record. We will use recorded messages where an option for Spanish will be available. These calls will be made at 5:30 p.m. each day.

University of Arkansas - Fort Smith received a 2009 Governors Work-Life Balance “Spotlight” Award
